Obituary of a Crockpot

I am so sad. Today my crockpot fell off the shelf and shattered. It was such a good little crockpot, too. We got it for our wedding, almost ten years ago. I have used it almost every day since then. I feel like I have lost a personal friend - a piece of my soul. The upside: I get a new one for Mother's Day!

I would be sad too! the handle broke off of my lid, and it was traumatic...what the heck, there only like $15, but how do you just give up such a vital member of the family? Oh, and the bad sister...she did not learn that at preschool! Too funny!

Can I say a few words?

*clearing throat*

Thank you for cooking things slowly, instead of rushing through it and making everything tough.

Thank you for keeping food warm, without drying it out.

Thank you Rival crockpot. Thank you for your decorative green 90's ivy. You will be missed.

Maybe I should try something like that and see what I can get replaced. Do you think it would work for my WHOLE house???????

You can get a new one now. Maybe I will have to set mine close to the edge of something....

i had that same crockpot and then got a new bigger one last year. and the funny thing is right after there was one of those get gephardt things on the news and they were testing for lead in dishes and crockpots and there was that old crockpot on the news. so maybe it's really a good thing that it broke.
